Great write up. I love the idea of using Kafka to enable platform migration! Sorry to hear about the book piracy, hope this gets resolved soon. You deserve to be fairly compensated for putting out such great educational content for us all to enjoy.
I'm afraid you'll never get Amazon to care about your book issue because they are still making money from it without extra cost to them. Investigating your problem comes at a very large cost (as it' wont just be for you only). Amazon fell down the toilet many years ago when they opened up to allow anyone to sell practically anything on there. cheap nock offs from china and india appearing all over the place. Buying a product for £10 which is then shipped from the other side of the world. It's wrong on so many levels but do you see Amazon caring? narrrr!
Why are you not reporting about the pirated copies at https://www.amazon.in/report/infringement? I see so many reviews complain about the poor print but I don't think Amazon cares. As authors you can raise your voice and also authorize local Print on Demand publishers to publish on your behalf, there are many such platforms.
