I’m not sure how is this transactions related? Feels that it can be solved by a simple queue and partitioning by player id. All updates are independent, there’s no rollback, imo either saga is not relevant or article does not cover the full motivation for that.

The original conference talk is from 2015. It would be great to read about some newer examples of Saga applications in complex projects.
